4.Web Design: Aesthetics

The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things – Jean Piaget

Strangely, it’s not enough to design or just develop a website and just hope it sticks, people will not visit your site if it’s ugly or has too many ads and pop-ups, we’re humans, we like things easy and quick, nobody wants to get info from a buggy website that takes almost a minute to load like Sahara Reporters or even TooXclusive.

People want sites with a flat and easily understandable U.I (User Interface) so in order for you to make a difference as a hopeful web designer, you’d gain a lot by paying attention to the following rules.

  1. Less is more  –  I’m a big supporter of minimalism, i have studied design for years and i find sites and even apps with an overly colourful interface ugly, i just can’t stand them. If you absolutely must make use of colours on your site, pick a simple colour scheme, don’t go crazy with your blues and oranges.
  2. Flat U.Is are better – Not only are they less cumbersome to design, they are also easier to see. Everything just seems better on a site with a beautiful flat design.
